The Early Years Foundation Stage sets the standards that all Early Years providers must meet and ensures that your children learn and develop well.
The EYFS document combines together all previous care and learning standards for Early Years provision together in one working document that is used from birth to 5 years old. This process starts within nursery and continues through into Reception class.
Here at Westerham Day Nursery our whole ethos is learning through play, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage in order to achieve this. We believe that all children are individuals who each develop at their own varying rate.
The EYFS framework promotes a play based approach to the curriculum framework that requires practitioners to ensure that children have a balanced range of child initiated and adult led activities and experiences. Children are viewed as individuals in their own right and planning is based on the needs of the child, drawn from observations by their key person
and information shared between nursery and home.
